Product history: The Panzerfaust 60 was a German disposable anti-tank weapon developed during World War II. Introduced in 1944, it was an improved version of earlier Panzerfaust models, designed to give infantry a simple and effective way to destroy enemy tanks. The weapon used a shaped-charge warhead capable of penetrating thick armour and had an effective range of about 60 meters, which gave the weapon its name. It was cheap, easy to produce, and simple to operate, making it ideal for mass distribution to German soldiers. Widely used in the war’s final months, it proved highly effective in close-range urban combat.
