1/16 - US Infantry

Product history: US Infantry formed the backbone of the American Army during the Second World War. Infantrymen fought in North Africa, Italy, France, Germany, and across the Pacific, often facing harsh terrain, weather, and strong enemy defences. Armed with weapons such as the M1 Garand, Thompson, BAR, carbine, grenades, and mortars, they advanced on foot, cleared positions, and held ground. Their duties included patrolling, digging in, escorting tanks, and attacking towns, beaches, forests, and islands. Supported by artillery, armour, engineers, and air power, US infantry played a major role in the Allied victory in both Europe and the Pacific.
