Product history: The 7.5 cm Pak 40 was Germany’s main anti-tank gun of the Second World War. Introduced in 1942, it was developed to defeat heavily armoured Soviet tanks such as the T-34 and KV series. The early Pak 40 had a strong split-trail carriage, shield protection, and fired powerful 75 mm armour-piercing rounds. Although heavy to move by hand, it was highly effective and became a standard weapon for German anti-tank units. It was also mounted on vehicles such as the Marder series. Reliable, powerful, and widely produced, the Pak 40 remained dangerous to Allied armour until the war’s end.
