1/16 - German Jerry Cans

Product history: The German jerry can, officially the Wehrmacht-Einheitskanister, was a 20-liter fuel and water container introduced before World War II. Its pressed-steel body, welded seams, three-handle design, and recessed sides made it strong, stackable, and easy for one or two men to carry. Unlike many early Allied fuel cans, it resisted leaks and rough handling, making it ideal for mobile warfare. Used widely by German forces, it impressed British and American troops in North Africa. The Allies soon copied the design, replacing weaker containers such as the British flimsy. The jerry can became one of the war’s most successful logistical inventions.
