Product history: Field Marshal Erwin Rommel, known as the “Desert Fox,” was one of Germany’s most famous commanders of World War II. He earned his nickname during the North African campaign, where his bold tactics, rapid movements, and surprise attacks made him a respected opponent. Leading the Afrika Korps, Rommel won several victories against British and Commonwealth forces, though he was often limited by fuel, supplies, and Allied air power. He was later involved in defending France before D-Day.
