1/16 - British WS38 set

Product history: The Wireless Set No. 38 was a British man-portable radio used during the Second World War for short-range infantry communication. Introduced in the early 1940s, it allowed platoons, companies, and forward troops to pass messages more quickly than by runner or field telephone. The set was carried on the operator’s back, with batteries, headset, microphone, and aerial equipment. Its range was limited and performance could be affected by terrain, buildings, and weather, but it was valuable for coordination in battle. Used by British and Commonwealth forces, the WS 38 helped modernise infantry command and control during the war.
