1/16 - British Improved 4 Gallon "Flimsy's"

Product history: British improved 4-gallon cans were stronger replacements for the early wartime “flimsy” fuel containers used in North Africa. The original flimsys leaked easily, split during transport, and wasted large amounts of petrol in desert conditions. Improved versions were made with better seams, stronger metal, and more practical construction, giving troops a more reliable way to carry fuel and water. They were still less effective than the German-style jerrycan, which later became the preferred Allied container. However, the improved 4-gallon can helped reduce losses during a critical period when supply lines across the desert were long, rough, and dangerous.
